Ben has over 10 years of experience in finance, where his innovative nature and detail–orientation brings a high level of accuracy in portfolio management, presentation skills and provides keen knowledge in operational management of funds. As a Senior Advisor at The Terra Fund, his guidance includes, advising on impact investing, financial analysis in fixed income markets, asset allocation and business development, with a clear direction that is in line with Terra’s vision and investment objectives, while also keeping the pathway of our overall social impact mission.

Ben began his career as an Undergraduate Instructor at the University of Missouri Trulaske College of Business, were he taught finance, encompassing financial derivatives, prepared course material relating to economic and capital markets and assessed student performance through daily assignments and student portfolios. He then worked at Lord Abbett as a Research Analyst, where his responsibilities included analyzing high yield assets, interpreting market data, performed qualitative and quantitative research and assessed financial suitability to develop customized portfolios. Ben was then a Senior Associate at Providence Equity Partners, where he assisted in the organization of financial reports, performed financial analysis, prepared operating budgets and ad hoc reports and provided guidance on the overall strategy in the financial markets.

Moreover, Ben’s next position was Vice President at Goldman Sachs, where his delegation and responsibilities were to increase operational scale, making enhancements to pricing models to extend product offering and to improve client experience for existing products within teams and building new platforms that implement improved financial models. After Goldman Sachs, he then founded and managed EventShares ETFs as the Chief Investment Officer, were he identified and invested in companies undergoing policy disruption and achieved strong positive annualized alpha in the first–ever government policy–based ETF, and further developed a new breakaway arm from the company into a new firm called MarketDesk Research, where the company performs investment research, model portfolios and market insights for wealth advisors and institutional investors.

Ben obtained a Bachelor in Finance and Banking and MBA from the University of Missouri Trulaske College of Business, is a Chartered Financial Analyst from the CFA Institute and holds Series 7 and 63 from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). He also volunteers his time in mentoring students at the University of Missouri Trulaske College of Business in becoming entrepreneurs by guiding them in the financial markets, career advancement and emerging market trends and is also Chair of Special Programing and Events at Trulaske College of Business, where he oversees the annual wealth management symposium at the CFA Society and advises young financial professionals into their careers as analysts, advisors and financial managers.
