DIRECTOR OF INSTITUTIONAL INVESTMENT

Kal is The Terra Fund’s Director of Institutional Investment, throughout his career he has been at the forefront of global investing where he has dedicated his career to helping clients build their portfolios. He oversees all the investment entities including banks, insurance companies, pensions, hedge funds, investment advisors, endowments and mutual funds. Kal is an exceptional member to Terra because of his industry reputation, which has allowed him to build a diverse client base, where this permits Terra to present investment products to multiple entities in the financial industry. Throughout his 30 years of institutional financial management, Kal brings to Terra a truly unique and senior approach to global, multi–asset class and multi–manager portfolio management experience to direct Terra well into the future.

His work experience includes twenty years as Chief Investment Officer of The Headlands Group, where he has been at the forefront of global investment management providing institutional quality resources, financial research and leading edge institutional practices into client portfolios. Furthermore at The Headlands Group, he manages absolute return, global equity alpha portfolios and provides asset allocation guidance to institutional investors. Previously Kal spent five years with BME Partners as a consultant and later became the managing director of global strategy, was the director of multiple assets strategies at Invesco and the vice president at Dorn & Helliesen.

Kal has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at Berkley and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from San Francisco State University. He also has obtained the Chartered Financial Designation from the CFA Institute, where this contributes to his investment analysis and decision–making skills in the global investment profession, as well as his desire to continue his growth in the industry. Furthermore, he has spoken at conferences on global investing, measuring risk and other investment topics to ensure diversification in the marketplace. He has co–authored publications, taught CFA exam review courses and conducted Institute for Field Education workshops and also lectured graduate investment classes on global investing and asset allocation.
