SECURITIES LENDING MANAGER

Mark is a Securities Lending Manager at The Terra Fund, where his experience encompasses multiple aspects, including ensuring smooth and effective operations of lending services, supporting business goals and budgeting. At Terra, his work includes analyzing risk metrics, forecasting collateral trade information, supporting daily trading of assets where they meet the fund’s criteria to ensure protocols and guidelines are being met within the fund structure. His key skills as a securities lending manager is to appropriately reduce risks when possible, so business decisions are made to meet expansion as well as predicting securities hedging risks involved in lending for worldwide markets.

Mark originally started his career at State Street Bank as a global securities lending associate, were he managed cash and non–cash collateral, trained and supervised new recruits and fostered key relationships with brokers, traders and custodians. He was later promoted to a senior portfolio accountant role where he oversaw day–to–day operations for a multibillion dollar pension fund and presented monthly financial statements with daily net asset value pricing. He later joined the team of Barclays Global Investors as a senior securities lending product services analyst where his responsibilities included resolving operational issues, identifying new opportunities and supported strategic relations with counterparties.

After Barclays, he moved to Morgan Stanley Prime Brokerage as a client service associate, where he secured, developed and serviced business relationships with hedge funds, cross–sold firm products and services to clients to maximize earnings and minimize risks. Furthermore, he managed point of contact for seven hedge funds and mitigated risk for clients by focusing more on compliance, controls and knowledge within hedge funds to comply with safety measures for transparent transactions. He would later on become an associate at Harvest Capital Strategies and Ascent Capital were his main tasks included importing market positions on a daily basis, conduct in–depth quantitative and qualitative research on the private impact investing market and assist with review of marketing reports.

Mark received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Geography from Cark University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he also sang in the acapella group unassisted by musical instruments, through the University’s acapella club, The Clark Bar. Furthermore, with his love for soccer, Mark volunteers for Soccer Scores Kids, where he and other volunteers train students with soccer techniques in preparation of Soccer World Cup for the children in the program.
